Roots in the vehicle industry
Every successful business is built on great ideas.
In the mid-1980s our founder Helwig Schmitt recognised the potential of information presented in map form at a trade fair. Having previously worked for an agricultural engineering manufacturer, he knew that long tables are not the easiest way to monitor the market. He was on the trail of a new approach for the vehicle sector.
This idea led him to set up his own business, initially with printed market analyses for tractors and harvesting technology. As our expertise grew, we continued to develop into the automotive sector until the release of our first market information system MIS – market data could be displayed like never before.
What began in 1983 has grown into a leading global company. Data mining, specialised systems and individual advice – the result of 40 years of innovation and market experience.
